Rhinology and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery have been evolving with tremendous speed during the last three decades. From the minimally invasive techniques of the late 80’s, we have been transferred to the radical techniques and extended applications of trans-nasal Neurosurgery and more. As expected, the demand for training in the endoscopic techniques is continuously growing. Hellenic Rhinologic Society has been enthusiastically contributing to this need, supporting the young Rhinologists, by organizing cadaver courses since 2005.
This is an international course, with renowned faculty from Greece and abroad, organized in co-operation with the 1st Academic ENT Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, under the auspices of European Rhinologic Society. We decided to make it more interesting, by applying a few training elements, which have been tested in previous courses:
- We will try to meet the training needs of all participants, by tailoring their dissection plan according to their individual preferences (a questionnaire will be sent before the course).
- CT-scans of real cases will be analyzed on trainees’ own laptops and discussed.
In the dissection demonstration, and in the lab training, the participants will familiarize themselves with the different applications of powered instrumentation. - All lab stations will have image guidance.
- Participants who will not manage to book a place in the lab, will enjoy an extra day of interesting practical lectures and video sessions, which will run parallel to the lab training.
Finally, we will all have the chance to enjoy a few days in the beautiful “Bride of the North”, Thessaloniki, in warm May.
