This is a crash course in all things paediatric habilitation, these sessions are aimed at audiologists wanting to expand their knowledge in the management of amplification in babies and children.
The first presentation, ‘Early Fitting of Amplification Best Practice Guidelines’ will explore the initial fitting of hearing aids from ABR thresholds, considerations when performing paediatric fittings, methods of verification (including frequency lowering), validation and ongoing management pathways.
The subsequent presentations will explore the different types of hearing aid amplification options available, when these should be considered, and management of hearing aids in older children as well as the importance of the multidisciplinary team around the child. We will explore real-life cases studies including how to manage tricky scenarios and there will also be the opportunity to discuss and ask questions.
All of the presentations will be based on relevant evidence and literature, whilst offering demonstrations of procedures and practical tips for use in your clinical practice. We are aiming to promote best practice within the field of paediatric audiology and increase your confidence in your paediatric clinics.
