The event is aimed at anyone who has an interest in global health and aims to raise awareness of the significant health inequalities that exist globally. ENT global health activities, partnerships, initiatives and research will be discussed. The conference last year was the first virtual meeting run by ENT UK. We found that holding the conference online did in fact enable greater international participation and in some ways was ideal for a meeting on global health!
We have a variety of speakers from several countries talking on a range of subjects. Each session will have a panel discussion and debate will be encouraged throughout the day. We will have one session on world hearing-an update, following the launch of the World Report on Hearing by the WHO earlier this year.
We also have a session aimed at trainees and young consultants looking at ways of engaging with global health and the sense of satisfaction and achievement that can come from doing so.
We will also be looking at social media and global health reporting amongst other topics.
