Airway surgeons, please join us at the first full Cincinnati Pediatric Airway Course, being held in conjunction with the Hospital de Clinicas. The course is to be held in Porto Alegre in Southern Brazil, Feb 6-9. We plan 2½ days of lectures, panels and case presentations, followed by a dissection day. This Course is designed primarily for airway surgeons (otolaryngologists and pediatric surgeons), but should also be of value for pediatric pulmonologists and cardiothoracic surgeons.

During the 2 ½ days of lectures, we plan to cover 10 main topics (e.g. subglottic stenosis, problems of vocal cord mobility), with lectures, panels and submitted cases. The intent is that each session will be interactive with the audience. Delegates will be invited to submit relevant and interesting or educational cases, and 2 or 3 will be selected in each session for presentation to the rest of the audience as well as to the Faculty. There will also be a video poster display running throughout the conference, and delegates are invites to submit posters of interest. We plan to have a high acceptance rate for submitted electronic posters.

While the dissection day can only accommodate a limited number of dissectors, we plan for this day to discuss the nuances and tips of several surgeries, with educational videos, as well as live stream interactive discussion to the main auditorium while the dissectors perform these operations. The dissection day is designed to complement the lecture days, and while only 15% of the audience can be dissectors, this course is designed for the dissection day to be an integral component of the course, and of value to all participants.

We will also have a “free” half day with an opportunity for delegates to ask the faculty for advice on their own clinical cases.
