It is an honour to invite you to the Annual Congress 2018 of the Royal Belgian Society of Oto-rhino-laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, which will take place on the 23thand the 24th November at the Flanders Meeting & Convention Centre (FMCCA) in Antwerp. Antwerp is not only a World port and a very important industrial centre, it is also the most distinctive Baroque city of the Low Countries. This intriguing mixture of old and new forms the framework for the conference theme: ‘Update in ENT’. The congress centre itself is strategically situated next to the central station and the Zoo in the heart of Antwerp.
The intention is to provide the participants with a wide range of interesting and relevant clinical issues which are an update of consensus and guidelines settings. Both Belgian and foreign experts are invited to give their view on key areas of our specialty. This edition aims to be a next step forward, based on evidence-based experienceand fuelled by cutting-edge technologies and the latest scientific developments. Onboth days a programme will run simultaneously in 2 rooms, supplemented by a room for B-audio on Friday. The morning session of B-audio will be a formal celebration meeting of 20 years neonatal hearing screening in Flanders. Also, the annual report by colleague Tainmont will be elaborated separately and is entitled ‘An illustrated glossary of ENT pathology’.
This meeting will not only provide high-quality scientific information but also theopportunity to meet other ENT colleagues in a friendly atmosphere.
