The Hospital for Sick Children International Paediatric Temporal Bone Dissection Course is intended for otologists and paediatric otolaryngologists with a desire to provide state of the art ear surgery to children. The course is run in the renowned University of Toronto Surgical Skills Centre and is designed to promote acquisition of surgical skills specific to paediatric ear surgery. Time allocation is prioritised for hands on delegate participation. Endoscopic and microscopic skills will be enhanced with adult cadaveric and paediatric model temporal bones for cochlear implantation, implantable hearing aids, ossiculoplasty and cholesteatoma surgery. Experienced international faculty will supervise these activities. Concise relevant lectures will be interspersed within the practical sessions at appropriate time points with continual opportunities for question and answer sessions.
