The overarching goal of this international conference on cochlear implants and other implantable auditory devices is to share new knowledge and stimulate frank discussion regarding the most important developments in implantable technologies for the inner ear. As part of this goal, we encourage the presentation of cutting-edge research in cochlear implants and an open dialogue on controversial issues that have defined the field. Achieving our goals depends upon bringing together the diverse groups of clinicians, surgeon and scientists that all contribute to the field of cochlear implantation so that we may jointly address the most challenging cases and scientific questions that we continue to face.
Ultimately, we anticipate that this conference will also provide a focused lens through which we can examine the future developments and advances in cochlear implantation.
