The Singapore Allergy & Rhinology Course (SARC) has come a long way since 2010. The 5th SARC / FESS Workshop in 2014 was a resounding success with over 280 registrants from 16 countries.
We are proud to present the 6th SARC next year from 19 – 21 March 2015, at the Holiday Inn Atrium, Singapore. This course is supported by the Society of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery (SSOHNS), Singapore.
We are also excited to announce the 2nd SARC FESS Workshop to be held on 21 – 22 March 2015.
We are also very excited to have very distinguished pioneers in Rhinology & Allergy to be joining us this year in SARC & the FESS workshop. They are Prof David Kennedy, Prof Martin Citardi, Prof Joaquim Mullol, Prof Elina Toskala, Prof Matthew Ryan, A/Prof Dharambir S Sethi and Prof Xu Geng. With them, they bring along their huge amount of experience to share and impart to all participants.
This course has established itself to be one of the important forums for ASEAN ENT doctors to interact with leading ENT specialists from the USA, Europe, China and other parts of the world. There will be panel discussion on the leading controversial topics in both surgical and medical treatment of allergic rhinitis, rhinosinusitis and other associated diseases. Leading edge technology will also be showcased in both the course and workshop.
The Directors of the FESS workshop are Dr Leong Jern-Lin and Dr David Chin, with A/Prof Dharambir S Sethi as the Director-Advisor. All the invited professors will be participating in the demonstration of basic to advanced endoscopic skull base dissection techniques. All participants will have hands-on cadaveric dissection supervised by personal tutors. Image guidance systems will be available in all stations to aid the understanding of anatomy.
This Course and Workshop would be the first to establish the standard of teaching for ENT Allergy and Rhinology practise. It not only serve as a platform for exchange of ideas but also increase greater co-operation amongst ASEAN doctors in understanding this disease.
The curriculum will be comprehensive and include core concepts of rhinosinuses and allergy. Understanding of the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment will be re-emphasized. Other topics including inflammatory nasal diseases and immunotherapy will be taught. There will also be hands-on practicum on allergy testing.
This course has established itself as the leading forum in the teaching and exchanging of ideas in ENT Allergy and Rhinology in Asia. We hope to continue to build on this. We look forward to welcoming you to the Lion City!
