The journal’s visiting professors for 2014 will be Dr Emmanuel Mylanus from Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen and Dr Dhananjay Kelkar from Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Erandawane, Pune, India.
Dr Mylanus is a consultant otologist who has a long history of research in the field cochlear implantation and other forms of hearing implant. He spent some of his training in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and the remainder at Radboud University Medical Center. He has published widely in the ENT literature. He is now in charge of the Center for Hearing & Implants at the Radboud UMC, in which high quality care is provided for patients in need of implantable devices for hearing loss. He is a principal investigator of the Centre of Neuroscience within the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour.
Dr Kelkar trained in Surgical Oncology at the Tata Memorial Hospital (National Cancer Centre, Government of India). He has been a consultant head and neck surgeon for 24 years and is medical director of Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune. He has run the Laryngeal Cancer Treatment Centre in Pune since 2002. He is the Founder Director and Trustee of the Deenenath Mangeshkar Hospital.
